Almost never was

I'm writing this hub just because i love Rock and Roll and in general music, as long as i can remember i have listened to it and been influenced by so many tons of bands and artists. When i was growing up my dad would always play the music he grew up listening to, by the way im talking about like some 60's, 70's, and 80's. Some of my favorites still are Led zeppelin, Jimmy Hendrix, ACDC, Van Halen, Boston, The Cars, ELO, Nirvana, Scorpions, Supertramp, Areosmith, Queen, Guns n Roses, and ofcourse The Beatles. That is only to name a few, im sure some people will comment and remind me of a few, haha.

When i got into Middle school and High school, my library expanded and everything became so different than all the usual genre labeled rock i was used to. First i got into the genre most people would call "emo". Yes, I was into that stuff at one point.. Going into my junior year from what i remember i started listening to mainly hard rock for example Slipknot, All that Remains, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, Korn, Lamb of God, and Linkin Park. I never got into screamo or anything that i cant understand the lyrics, just not really good music to me.

As i was going into my third college in one year i decided to take an easy A and take a Music History class, turns out i really loved it and it was the only class i passed. But basically the reason i wrote this was because everyone credits Elvis as the King of Rock, well people i would love to disagree with you, he didnt really do much. From what i learned the man didnt even write his own lyrics for any of his music, but dont get me wrong, i love his music its just i think the Rock and Roll crown should be shared with others. My reasons are because back when Tin Pan Alley was trying to get rid of Rock and Roll, and clean up everything, getting dj's put in jail for playing only Rock, or just trying to get artists to quit, lots of the main bands and influential artists either dissapeared or died. Buddy Holly died in a plane crash, Chuck Berry was put in jail for the second time, Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13 year old cousin, Little Richard dropped it all to get more into church, and RCA records was keeping Elvis out of all the trouble. BUT there was one band who revitalized Rock and that band is....... THE BEATLES, arguably the greatest band ever created, in my mind the best though. Tell me what you think!
